You probably know that just last week a trainer was killed by a killer whale at a Sea World in Orlando (Newsy video Transcript). Quite an anomaly? The killer whale must have taken revenge? Something went wrong and the whale might have misinterpreted something (the trainer's pony tail, they say): read story and watch impressive video of trainer and whale.
I do love watching dolphins jump and play, but I'd rather see them in the ocean than in a swimming pool. And I definitely don't like to see lions and tigers, elephants, giraffes or crocodiles locked in cages or confined in small and poorly kept grounds. However, I must admit I used to love going to the zoo as a kid. So Read the pros and cons of keeping animals in captivity (The Independent). What do you think?

Why human beeing should think that they are the owners of the civilization? why are we playing with the whole earth after the beginning of the times like if it was our toy? We must have thought that we are god or something. I think we are, in our modern times, very far away from the truth of nature, we don't understand the signs of suffering that the nature is sending to us every day. We are unable to recognize the language of the forests, of the seas, oceans, lands...
We don't have any respect for the nature and the animals and others living in. Population is growing and growing all around the world but, what happens if you stop a minute and you hear the earth talking? Chile, Haiti, Uganda, France...
We really think that we can do whatever we want with every beeing on earth?
We have now a lot of sophisticated ways to study animals and nature without needing to close them in jails unfairly!!
Travel its now easier that it had never been before!
Whenever we catch an animal and we deprive it from its HOLY freedom it MUST be in its own benefit, never in OURS.
Do you remember the black man in Banyoles? It was too a way to study! What unkind disrespect so many years with our consetment!!
It makes me think in american indians, and all their wise way to treat the nature who mantains them, who gives them to eat, to take care of illness, to breath, all their respect and veneration to al the alive beeings around them!
One day we will repeat the words of the song: where are all the flowers gone? the animals gone? the seas gone?
And one day, nature will return to us all the damage, injury, hurt, unrespect we are having to her!!!

Wow... you're so passionate about that...I suppose I agree, though controlling nature is what we've been doing since time immemorial, isn't it, so I guess it's not so easy to go from one way of thinking to another. And I confess that I do like the trainer's job... I'd love to dance with the whale as she used to -even knowing that it might get angry at some point!
Yes, I understand your feeling, is very romantic, very wild to imagine ourselves dancing with whales, dolphins, elephants...whatever...but before our dancing pictures those animals have to be separated from theirs families, their natural home, nobody ask them about dancing with human beeings, sincerily it remains me about slaves. If you (I mean in general , to all of us) want to know them, live with them, dance or whatever try to be more honest and corageous and go to their homes! do it in the ocean, in the jungle, you will see a real animal, free, powerful, fair, not an scared o drugged submiss animal, we have the power to do alot of good things, but usually, often, the most of the times, we choose the wrong things, why?
There's something that I can stand at all: it annoyes me deeply when an alive beeing, no matter which one, acts like if he was the owner of other beeings, and I don't care about species o genres, nobody have the right to decide in others place, in this world we can only survive with a LOT of RESPECT for all the alive beeings around us, with legs or without them!

It reminds you of slaves... I can feel stupidly romantic, I can even feel guilty if you want me to... but I would still like to dance with the big whale! Of course, I would ask him for a dance first... :-)
I think animals nee to live in free. Only ill animal woild live in captivity.
I'm in captivity at home these days because I had a small surgey. I hope return soon.

Thanks a lot, anonymous (I think it's Magda?) for this web site. It looks interesting!
Anna, I have enjoyed a lot reading your comments. I am completely agree with you. I also understand that Mariona likes playing with whales, but like many women did before (Jane Goodall,Dian Fossey, etc.)they went where lived the animals. Although, it is clear that always can have exceptions.

That's amazing! I saw a documentary on TV not long ago. There is actually a legend that tells how Buddah tamed a tiger, isn't there? In fact, that's what I do with "my" cat (which, by the way, is not mine, it's a free and independent street cat). So I AGREE with Anna too. HOWEVER, who wouln't love to walk among tigers? Fascinating! Thanks for the link, Guillermo.
